ALSA FORUM (AF)
ALSA Forum (AF) is one of the most longstanding and important events of ALSA. The Forum is held in the summer in a different country every year. It is usually the venue for discussions on legal, economic and social issues faced by member countries. Its objective is to cultivate globally-thinking law students and promote the understanding of diverse principles of law in different countries, to develop creative spirits through networking activities and to encourage the enhancement of students’ legal capabilities.
This is a meeting for ALSA’s Executive Committee, the International Board, representatives and delegates from ALSA’s member countries. The new members of the International Board would be selected here through an election according to the regulations of the Constitution.
General Assembly
Governing Council Meeting
This is the meeting concerning the administration of ALSA. There would be thorough discussions on the administrative system, activities of ALSA, management of the branches and members, election of the executives and constitution of ALSA.
Table Discussion
Law students from different countries would gather and discuss legal problems. They would work out solutions from different angles of law and compare the legal perspective of different countries around Asia.
Symposium
There would be lectures given by distinguished speakers which are usually judges or top legal professionals. This activity aims to increases students’ awareness of legal issues and enable them to express their ideas on certain topics.
Delegates would be taken on a sightseeing tour and experience the unique culture and history of the host country.
Cultural Trip
There would be performances from each participating country during the Cultural Night. It is hoped that this would establish understanding and friendships among delegates despite having different cultural, religious, and moral beliefs.
